Maldon : Chelmsford : Essex : Online
You've been holding it all together, but it no longer feels possible.
Maybe you're waking up with a heavy weight in your chest, wondering how you'll get through another day. Perhaps you're exhausted from trying to meet everyone else's expectations while your own needs sit quietly in the background.
You may feel stuck in a relationship that no longer feels safe or connected. Intimacy has disappeared. You don't feel heard, understood, or valued by your partner, and you no longer recognise yourself.
Perhaps friendships leave you feeling different, disconnected, or unappreciated. You are always there for others, yet rarely receive the same support in return.
Family relationships may feel overwhelming too. Boundaries are ignored, criticised, or pushed aside. You might feel responsible for keeping everyone happy, struggle to say no, or be navigating the impact of toxic, controlling, or narcissistic family dynamics.
You've tried to keep going.
You've told yourself it isn't that bad. You've convinced yourself that other people have it worse. You've worked harder on your relationship, tried to be a better friend, organised family gatherings, reinforced boundaries, and pushed through exhaustion.
Yet something inside you knows:
This isn't how life is meant to feel.
You don't have to keep carrying it alone.
Whether you're experiencing burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, low self-esteem, or the emotional impact of a gynaecological condition, your struggles make sense.
Your mind and body have been working hard to protect you, adapt, and survive. Therapy offers a space to understand those patterns, process what has happened, and create meaningful change.
LIFE CAN BE DIFFERENT
- You can feel emotionally safe and connected in your relationships.
- You can communicate your needs with confidence.
- You can establish healthy boundaries without guilt.
- You can feel valued in your friendships.
- You can free yourself from patterns that no longer serve you.
- You can wake up without the dread, overwhelm, or constant pressure you've become used to carrying.
This is possible.
You may want to feel like yourself again.
Or perhaps, for the first time, you want to discover who you are beyond the coping strategies, people-pleasing, anxiety, and survival mode.
This is where that journey begins.
I'm Holly, a Relationship & Trauma Therapist based in Maldon, Essex. I specialise in relationship difficulties, trauma, emotional wellbeing, burnout, depression, anxiety, gynaecological health, and women's wellbeing.
Alongside integrative talking therapy, I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that helps people process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and move forward from experiences that continue to affect their lives today.
How I Can Help
I provide therapy for adults experiencing a range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. Whether you are struggling with the impact of past experiences, difficulties in your current relationships, or feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, therapy can help you make sense of what you're experiencing and find a way forward.
My areas of specialism include:
• EMDR therapy for trauma, childhood trauma, and distressing life experiences
• Relationship therapy for couples and individuals experiencing conflict, communication difficulties, trust issues, emotional disconnection, or intimacy concerns
• Therapy for burnout, workplace stress, perfectionism, and people-pleasing
• Support for anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and emotional overwhelm
• Therapy for family difficulties, including boundary setting, toxic family dynamics, and recovering from narcissistic relationships
• Support for friendship challenges, relationship patterns, and building healthier connections
• Therapy for grief, loss, and major life transitions
• Emotional support for people living with chronic pain and long-term health conditions
• Specialist support for gynaecological health conditions, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, PMDD, fertility challenges, menopause, and the emotional impact these experiences can have on daily life and relationships
Every person's story is unique. Together, we'll create a therapeutic approach that meets your individual needs, helping you build greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and lasting change.
Together, we will explore your experiences with honesty, compassion, and curiosity. Therapy moves at your pace, within a calm, supportive, and sometimes gently challenging space.

Getting Started
When you get in touch, we can arrange a free 10–15 minute telephone consultation to discuss what you are looking for from therapy and answer any questions you may have. If you already feel ready to begin, we can arrange an initial appointment straight away.
During our first session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss relevant aspects of your personal history, and consider any current difficulties or symptoms you may be experiencing. Just as importantly, we will take time to consider whether we feel comfortable working together, as a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective therapy.
We will also discuss practical arrangements, including the most suitable day and time for ongoing sessions, and whether counselling, EMDR therapy, or a combination of approaches may be most helpful for your goals.
